A Husband For Killer Mom

Chapter 181 - 181 Ch. 181 Another Man Kissed Anxia

Richard often hugged Anxia, ??kissed her, and held her hand so that Anxia was used to the man’s sweet demeanor. But she didn’t understand why her husband had to take her to the room first to hug her.

Could it be that Richard thought Anxia felt sad and depressed hearing Quinn’s name? Who is Anxia anyway? She’s not a weak girl.

Indeed, she had felt a bit of shock when Anxia heard that they would be attending the wedding anniversary of that shameless girl’s father. But Anxia didn’t feel depressed or sad.

“Um… Richie? I’m fine. You don’t have to comfort me.” Anxia could feel an amused smile on her neck because, at this moment, the man pressed his lips against her sensitive neck.

“I know you don’t need comforting, but I do.”

“Why? Did something make you sad?”

“I just hurt my mother.”

When? “What do you mean you hurt mother? When did you do it?”

.....

“Just now. I declined her advances to the invitation, and disappointment and shock filled her eyes when she looked at me. Did I say refuse it harshly? Did my tone sound cold? This is the first time I have contradicted my mother.”

Anxia smiled amusedly, hearing her husband’s worried and regretful voice. Ah, this man does have a heart like an angel―he was even afraid to hurt his mother’s feelings. Thinking about it, Anxia had never seen her husband being so rude to her parents. The man never snapped or argued, even if Richard disagreed with what his parents had said. If they had differences of opinion, Richard always patiently offered his mother understanding and treated the older woman with great respect and tenderness.

Anxia had never encountered this kind of filial treatment of other youths.

On average, they act proud and arrogant and make their parents like their helpers when they are more powerful than their retired parents or become weak because of old age. Sometimes, Anxia also received a request from a client to kill the client’s father to take the old man’s fortune.

Anxia never knew how it felt like to have parents and what she would do once she was independent, and her parents were vulnerable. Would she abandon her parents like other rebel teenager kids―or would she still respect and be humble toward her parents, as Richard did toward Stanley and Meisya?

How lucky to be Stanley and Meisya as parents. Their three children still respect and love them even though the elders are old and don’t have as much vitality as before, their three children still respect and love them.

Even at this moment, Richard felt sorry for being rude to his mother even though, according to Anxia, ??Richard still expressed his refusal in a subtle and not harsh tone.

But, it seems this man felt he had been rude to his mother because Richard saw the look of disappointment and shock from his mother.

Well, how could Meisya not be surprised? So far, Richard and his two younger siblings would always obey her to attend family gatherings―even if the children were so unwilling, they would still comply and make an appearance at any party Meisya wished them to go. But this was the first time Richard had firmly refused.

Anxia patted her husband’s back like a mother patting the back of her child, who had just experienced a failure.

“Don’t blame yourself. You weren’t being rude to mom at all. Maybe she was startled, considering it was the first time you’d turned down her request. On that note, if you feel you have been rude to her, you can apologize, right?” Anxia never asked for an apology from other people. Everything she did was the right thing―that was what she believed.

Even if she realized she was wrong and made a mistake, Anxia never asked for forgiveness―that was before she gave birth to Lori or met and fell for Richard.

Now, she had learned to forgive and how to ask forgiveness every time she made a mistake. Nonetheless, it felt weird when Anxia’s tongue rolled that word when comforting her husband.

On the other hand, Richard did not answer and only tightened his embrace while smelling a delicious, distinctive aroma from the hollow of his wife’s neck.

His wife’s scent was delightful and calmed his troubled heart. He felt his life was complete when he was with his wife. Richard believed Anxia was half his soul―his soulmate, and he felt peace when he smelled her scent as if he was in the right place.

“And for your information, I don’t mind coming to the party. It’s your uncle’s wedding anniversary, after all.” Anxia was initially reluctant to go once she knew Leonard was Quinn’s father. Based on her perspective regarding Stanley―if Stanley didn’t mind accepting Heinest’s presence, it would mean that Leonard and his wife were sensible individuals.

“...” Richard loosened his embrace and stared at his wife’s eyes only to investigate Anxia’s expression. He wanted to know how profound her wife’s words were. “Are you sure?”

“I’ve never felt this certain before. Besides, why should we hide? We did nothing wrong. If anyone has to leave the event, it should be that girl, and it would be shameless if she still dared look us in the eye.” Anxia’s blunt remark lessened Richard’s displeasure, and he chuckled in amusement.

“You’re right. But I’ve never met someone who highly overvalued herself as her. She might shamelessly confront us and look us in the eye.”

“I don’t mind. A girl like her could never out wicked me.”

“You might not mind seeing her again. But I do, and I don’t want to see her ever again―let alone give her an opportunity to tear us apart.”

Richard felt that Anxia had taken away half of his soul when he realized that Anxia had left the house to teach Quinn a lesson. He felt like he had been thrown from the sky and fallen into a bottomless abyss when he saw Anxia’s entire clothes covered in blood a few days ago.

He could no longer bear to think of the worst possibility if Quinn found a loophole to make trouble separate them. Not to mention, he still had to figure out how to get Anxia out of master Yu’s clutches permanently.

And he also still has to find out whether Anxia’s mother, who still hasn’t moved from the shadows―is on his side or intends to take Anxia away from him.

There were already so many dangers ready to pounce on him―targeting Anxia would make him almost unable to sleep peacefully if it wasn’t for Anxia lying by his side.

Even if he had a Cerberus member, if he didn’t know his enemy’s actual capabilities, Richard couldn’t act rashly.

That was why, at a minimum, he didn’t want to meet people who had the potential to be hostile to him or Anxia. He needed to avoid adding to the trouble that could weaken his concentration on protecting his family. Not meeting a two-faced girl like Quinn was the best choice not to risk Lori’s life. One could never know what kind of plan filled that wicked lady’s mind when she decided on something.

Even though Richard was sure that Leonard must have managed to restrain Quinn so that the lady would not dare to approach him again or threaten his daughter, he didn’t want to risk it.

“Don’t worry, Richie. I was off guard, but I never made the same mistake twice. She could never do something like that again,” coaxed Anxia, sinking her head in her husband’s chest.

In the afternoon, Anxia met Harmonie near the fish pond when the girl was holding Eugene, wanting to see fish swimming. Harmonie welcomed her arrival with a big smile while telling Eugene to greet Anxia by moving her nephew’s tiny hands.

Eugene smiled shyly while hiding his face in the crook of Harmonie’s neck, making Harmonie and Anxia laugh.

“This boy. He was always shy when he met beautiful women. But he was never embarrassed when he met a man.”

Anxia laughed in response to her sister-in-law’s explanation. “Can I carry him?” Anxia was intrigued to hold Eugene as she didn’t have a son.

“Of course,” Harmonie handed Eugene’s petite body towards Anxia.

Eugene didn’t rebel or cry when someone else held him. He straightened his back and stared at Anxia with his intelligent gaze. The baby seemed to be memorizing every curve of Anxia’s face and wondering whether Anxia intended to be mean to him.

“Hello, Eugene.” but Anxia completely ignored the boy’s serious expression and greeted him with a big smile.

Miraculously, Eugene smiled and chuckled then…

Cup!

Eugene moved and kissed her―the boy’s kiss didn’t land on her cheek, but on her lips!!

Good heaven! Richard never allowed Lori to kiss her on the lips, but now she’s being kissed by another man!!

What will her husband say later?
